Lined Snake

April 17, 2005-Jefferson County, Missouri

Lined Snakes are considered to be pretty rare, but in the right habitat, they can be easily found.  Adam Nadler flipped a rock that hid the first Lined Snake for me, and over the next two hours or so, our group found 20 of these worm eating snakes.  Look at the ventral surface, isn't the color and pattern neat?
