Southern Redback Salamander

Madison County, Missouri- April 16, 2005

My dad read an article in River Hills Traveler, a publication about the Ozark outdoors, of a hike that was filled with beauty, and in a photo of the place, he noticed many flat rocks.  (Can you see the lightbulb going off?)  We decided to go to this place, and see what it had to offer.  I found my first Southern Redback Salamander there, under a rock, near a creek.
