Marbled Salamander
April 15, 2005- Johnson County, Illinois

Since the first time I saw a photo of a Marbled Salamander, I was facinated by them.  In the spring of 2005, I finnally got to see one in the wild.  The salamander shown here, was the first opacum that I ever found.  It was right there under a rock on a wooded hillside.  That was a special find for me.

I have found this species in:
Johnson County, Illinois
Wayne County, Missouri
