Spotted Salamander

April 16, 2005- Wayne County, Missouri

We got out of the car, and I immediately said, "We will find salamanders here."  Adam Nadler, a friend of mine, found the first maculatum of the day, under a log.  It was a juvenile, pictured here, and it was a new species for the both of us.
